Last night, I hit a barbecue, drank cocktails, ate a ton of food, so this morning, I was anxious to hit the trail and work it off.
It was cold and damp, but I knew if I laced up and headed out, I would feel better.
The trail, which runs through a big park, relaxes me. [...]

Lingering Pains
Posted in being single, break-up, dating, love, moving on on October 21, 2009 | 1 Comment »
I am awake early (for me) on a Wednesday morning. I am in pain — mostly physical, but I have some heart pain this morning, too.
Last night, I went downtown for my workout with BFD. I knew he would not be there . . . he’s away on business (as usual). The [...]
Miss Congeniality

I am currently obsessed with my workout. Obviously. In fact, I am more obsessed with my workout than I am with BFD.
A few weeks ago, we had a new trainer start and I have “beacquaintanced” her, not quite “befriend,” but we are warm. She speaks to me before and after class, and she is always [...]
The Break Date (Day 7)
Posted in break-up, dating, insights on September 15, 2009 | 1 Comment »
Every conversation I have with BFD operates always on two levels, the words we actually say and the meaning we know is in the other’s mind. The most shocking thing to me about all of BFD’s big reveals about his feelings is that I knew exactly what they were. He always knows what’s troubling me [...]
“I Have a Date For You” (Day 6)

That is what W said when he called me this afternoon. He said, I have a date for you for Friday night for the opening and the gala.
I was excited, and acknowledged “I am free on Friday night.” I was W’s date last year, which is how I met N.
Sadly, the date . . . [...]

I might be making some progress on that whole rut thing.
Emerging from the Rut: Accentuate the Positive
I made a decision — choose positive. That’s pretty much it. I have decided that I am going to do as BP has often counseled me: embrace that everything will turn out well. That’s it. That’s supposedly the secret [...]
Gossip Columns

I have been refreshing our local gossip columnists’ feeds and facebook to see if BFD shows up in the photos from last night.
Frankly, he should and I have already dealt with that pain of seeing him looking happy with other people.
We fought about why he was not taking me and it’s still a source of [...]
Shifting Thoughts on Day 3

I appreciate all of the comments, emails, and tweets I have received from you. It’s great to have so much support, even when you’re kicking my ass or telling me stuff I think is wrong or inapplicable. Of course, you may be right, I may be crazy . . .
It has been a rough 8 [...]
The One Where I Anger My Blog Friends (Day 2)
Posted in break-up, relationships on September 10, 2009 | 2 Comments »
As soon as I got back from my workout, I checked my email and saw the fabulous Mad Margaret’s 2 comments directly above an email from Elle entitled “Get Jennifer Aniston’s Latest Look.” Needless to say, a Friends title only made sense.
(Plus, the content is . . . well, you’ll see . . .)
Today [...]
Morning Thoughts on Day 2
Posted in break-up on September 10, 2009 | 3 Comments »
I have read those password protected posts a few times over the past day or so and I have written a follow-up about how I feel and where I think we are. Nothing I have written is any different from the “Not Saying We Go to Zero” post I wrote in the immediate aftermath [...]
